Lynn Ralph Miller is a painter, farmer, and author. He was born in 1947 in Kansas City to a father of PA/Dutch heritage and a Puerto Rican mother. He got his BFA from San Francisco Art Institute in 1970, and his MFA from the University of Oregon in 1972. His first years were spent in the Caribbean and he went to grade school and high school in Southern California. He has worked as a painter, bartender, commercial fisherman, gypo-logger, sawyer, farmer, workhorse teamster, teacher, publisher, editor, lecturer, cattle rancher. He is the founder, editor and publisher of Small Farmer’s Journal (established in 1976), author of 20+ books (poetry, fiction and nonfiction). His artwork is in private and public collections. He has three surviving adult children and five grandchildren and currently lives with his wife on their remote Central Oregon cattle and horse ranch.
